Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Cover Point ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why, and your rights over it. Cover Point is operated by EFG Apps, based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions, contact us at george.parvin@gmail.com.

Who this applies to

This policy applies to everyone who creates an account and uses Cover Point to record their cricket performance.

What we collect

When you use Cover Point, we store:

• Account details: your email address and name. Your password is stored securely (hashed) by our authentication provider and is never visible to us.
• Profile information: the details you choose to enter — playing role, batting hand, styles, self-rated abilities, preferred fielding positions, avatar appearance, and your bat bag.
• Cricket data: the matches, innings, bowling figures, fielding records, wagon wheels, pitch maps, bowler notes, ground ratings, and field plans you log.
• Club information: if you create or join a club, your membership, role, and the club-tagged matches you choose to share with that club.

We do not collect location data, payment details, contacts, health data, or any special-category personal data. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking.

Why we collect it and our lawful basis

We process your data to provide the service you have asked for — recording your performance and, if you join a club, sharing selected data with your teammates. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract: we cannot provide the app without an account and the data you enter.

Who can see your data

• Your personal data (matches not tagged to a club, your bowler notes, ground ratings, and private field plans) is visible only to you.
• Club-shared data: when you tag a match to a club or share a field plan with it, other members of that club can see the summary. You control what you share.
• We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored using Supabase, a hosted database provider, on servers located in Zurich, Switzerland. Access is protected by database security rules that restrict each user to their own data and their clubs' shared data.

Because these servers are outside the United Kingdom, this involves an international data transfer. Switzerland is recognised by the UK Government as providing an adequate level of data protection, so this transfer is lawful without additional safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and all associated cricket data are permanently removed.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data (you can edit most of this directly in the app).
• Delete your account and all associated data ("right to erasure").
• Export a copy of your data. We do not yet offer an in-app export, so we fulfil export requests manually — email us and we will send you a copy.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these, use the in-app "Delete account" option where available, or email george.parvin@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.

Children

Cover Point is intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app develops. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email.
